About Me
I am a thorough and thoughtful communications strategist with years of experience in journalism and public relations. I am a genuinely curious person who loves helping people reach their goals, and my work allows me to do both! My goal is to help you improve your communication strategy, outreach and overall presentation by auditing your current strategies and making recommendations. Specifically, I am available for editing, transcribing, and strategic communication planning. I love working with small teams to know how to help you get creative with your budget.

You want your mission to be clear and compelling, but also free of grammatical and stylistic errors. Let me help you make the most of your brand to reach your goals! When you work with me, you can expect consistency, dependability, and accuracy. I am a native English speaker, and I'm both accepting long-term and short-term projects.
When I'm not working, I am whitewater rafting, training in jiu-jitsu, reading, building things in my woodshop, cooking, traveling and probably listening to podcasts. I love people, especially the ones that make me laugh.
Bekah Price is an excellent editor. I edited my Master’s thesis in English four or five times before sending it to her, and she still caught a number of errors which had slipped by me. She also highlighted sections which needed rewording and clarity. Her price was reasonable and fair, and I will certainly call her again if I need another document checked by a professional eye. I would highly recommend.

Work Experience
Communications Coordinator
June 2020 - Present
As communications coordinator with the non-profit organization River Management Society, I work to expand our national reach and further our mission through strategic communications. This includes writing and editing content for traditional media and social media as well updating static website content and presentation. In addition, I promote events and opportunities, track outcomes and analytics and ensure all communications align with our comprehensive brand strategy.
Editor & Transcriptionist
June 2015 - Present
I specialize in copyediting and proofreading articles, marketing materials, web content, and reports. I am a speedy and accurate transcriptionist and am proficient with even poor quality audio or video files. I am a native English speaker with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication and a concentration in journalism.
Public Relations Coordinator
June 2016 - June 2019
I supervised public relations for Elizabethton City Schools including developing the public relations department, launching a new brand, managing news and marketing content for web and print and writing and editing hundreds of articles. I also served as the system-wide webmaster, social media manager and annual report author and designer.
Reporter
August 2015 - June 2016
As a reporter for the Elizabethton Star newspaper, I conducted interviews and research while refining my ability to make sense out of complex subject matter. I also wrote and edited every section in the paper including news, entertainment, lifestyles and outdoors. Prior to this, I was an intern reporter at the Kingsport Times-News and a student reporter at the East Tennesseean. I am also published in several local newspapers and magazines including Plough to Pantry and The Loafer.
I have watched the communications strategy and implementation that Bekah has developed and what a huge impact that focus is making for the school system. New programs are introduced in a strategic way, and community support and interest are generated because of this strong messaging. She is well respected in all circles and with all demographics. I am also impressed by Bekah’s work ethic. She has great energy, commitment and drive. Bekah would be a great addition to any team.

I have found her to be a valued asset in our community. Bekah’s strengths are evident in her communication, organization, team work, and creativity. I have also appreciated that Bekah is willing to be a part of groups or committees where she feels she can serve others.

Bekah reviewed and edited my personal statement for a medical school application with a defined character limit. Her review helped eliminate unnecessary adjectives and wordiness impacting the continuous flow of information for the reader. In addition, the edits freed up more characters to expand my story in other areas that required further concise explanations on my purpose for applying to medical school.

"Bekah edited a scientific abstract wonderfully for me! She was super easy to work with and provided excellent feedback in a timely fashion. I will definitely be using her services again in the future!"
